2-Turns: Dashes

Dashes

Add two turns to a dash. Break this complex motion into four parts.

start
in
halfway
end
out

Shown in quarters: watch the staff rotate as the hand travels straight from south to north.

A base dash starts thumb in and ends thumb out. With two turns it also ends thumb out (in → out).

For a vertical dash, track the direction (up → down → up).

Keep the hand path straight while the prop turns. Here is the motion in halves:

start
in
halfway
end
out

Shown in halves: the staff has completed a full rotation by the midpoint.
